đ Summary
On Shadows of New York, I was responsible for testing branching dialogues, character states and narrative outcomes in a highly reactive story framework.
My major focus was ensuring that UI elements reflected changes in allegiance and morality, as these were crucial for player feedback.
Testing involved simulating a variety of choices (combat-heavy, manipulative, diplomatic) to surface edge cases and soft blockers.
Challenges & Solutions
Cross-Device Compatibility Testing
Conducted in-depth cross-device compatibility testing, identifying layout and visibility issues caused by notches and screen ratios on recent Apple devices (iPhone 15 Plus, iPad Pro).
Gameplay Flow & Readability Improvements
Improved gameplay flow and readability by reporting critical UX bugs such as missing Game Over screens, broken auto-scroll with large text sizes, and overlapping UI elements across multiple menus.
Localization & Content Integrity Validation
Validated localization and content integrity by spotting untranslated interface elements, correcting grammar issues, and ensuring consistent language behaviour throughout the experience (on first launch and after death screens).
Store Readiness & Platform Compliance Verification
Verified store readiness and platform compliance by supporting updates to SDK targets, libraries, and app metadata (icon, app name), while also ensuring rating pop-ups and CTAs functioned as expected across platforms.
