With Abalone, my focus was to translate a classic physical board game into a digital premium mobile experience while preserving its strategic depth.

We modernized the experience with smooth UX, brand new AI opponents with scalable difficulty and asynchronous multiplayer.
Challenges & solutions
Led cross-platform build and compliance
Oversaw the end-to-end iOS build process, integrating App Tracking Transparency and embedding all supported languages in the build metadata. Ensured seamless behaviour for no-internet scenarios and correct app-logo display in light/dark modes.
Streamlined multiplayer and match flow
Defined and prioritized multiplayer UX improvements: implemented “Give Up” and “Cancel Queue” buttons, added AI-opponent mode, and introduced informative pop-ups for cancelled games. Coordinated real-time profile refresh and removed low-value game modes.
Optimized UI/UX and feature set
Partnered with designers to refine touch interactions (tap-outside dismissal, audio feedback) and eliminate distractions (ads, special-offer pop-ups, restore-purchases button). Used a Basic Launch Checklist to validate pop-ups, tutorial sequencing and consistent 3D board defaults.
Managed content, localization & monetization changes
Directed updates to credits and privacy links and handled in-game text corrections. Streamlined monetization by removing currency, daily rewards, and unlock all features for a premium, ad-free experience.
